Dr. W. Andrew Hodge Receives Orthopedic Summit Distinguished Professor Award and Delivers Speech on Dual Pivot Technology

On September 13, 2024, I had the honor of receiving the Orthopedic Summit 2024 Distinguished Professor Award at the Fontainebleau Resort & Convention Center in Las Vegas, NV. This recognition, presented by the Orthopedic Summit Organization, acknowledges my two decades of work in advancing knee and hip arthroplasty, particularly through the development of dual pivot technology in knee replacement.

In my presentation, Move Over, It’s Dual Pivot Time, I had the privilege of discussing the evolution of pivoting knee replacement arthroplasty—an area I’ve focused on for nearly 20 years. As one of the first to patent this innovative approach, I’ve dedicated my career to improving surgical outcomes and educating fellow surgeons worldwide on the benefits of dual pivot technology. My latest patent, the Lateral & Medial Pivoting Knee Prosthesis, was recently approved by the U.S. Patent Office, further advancing this revolutionary technique.

I’m incredibly proud of the results dual pivot technology has produced for patients, and recent studies have continued to validate its success. This award represents a significant milestone in my journey, and I look forward to continuing my efforts to advance orthopedic care and inspire the next generation of surgeons.
